Competition Guidelines

Competition Format

The competition is conducted in teams of 3 to 4 members. Team members must be of legal age (18). No previous military training or military service is required.

The competition starts with a mass start from Peurunka Arena on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 6:00 PM. During the first evening, participants will complete a night navigation. For safety reasons, all participants must carry a light source. The navigation ends at the first night’s base camp.

The competition continues on Saturday at 7:00 AM, with teams starting a few minutes apart. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be checkpoints along the route testing military skills, wilderness skills, general knowledge, and shooting ability. The organizer provides equipment and ammunition for the shooting tasks. On Saturday, teams must be at the base camp by 10:00 PM. On Sunday, the competition resumes at 6:00 AM for the military category and 7:00 AM for the reservist category. Teams must finish by 2:00 PM.

Series and Distances

The competition has two categories: a more demanding military division and a lighter reservist division. The military division is approximately 50 km long, and the reservist division is about 40 km.

Checkpoints and Scoring

The competition proceeds by navigating from one task checkpoint to another. There are approximately 30 tasks along the route. The overall completion time is not recorded; instead, the teams’ rankings are determined by the points collected from the checkpoints. The team with the highest points is the winner.

Terrain and Conditions

The competition route progresses through varying terrain, mainly following roads and trails. There are also off-road sections along the route.

Support and Safety

Teams will carry their shelters, food supplies, and all necessary equipment with them. Registered participants will receive safety instructions and a list of mandatory equipment.

Water and cooking stations are available along the route and at the checkpoints. First aid services will be provided for the entire duration of the event and will also be present at the checkpoints.

Insurance

All participants are insured by the organizer. At the competition site, participants will receive a safety card and instructions for emergency situations during registration.
